My view on education has always been... different.

I remember attending college and thinking, “I’m going to work for myself, so will I even need this?”

I tell you this so you understand the lens through which I view the world.

Back in 2023, I wrote an article about my beef with college (opens in new tab).

I wanted to launch Destroy the Box University — after I calmed down, I made it a resource center (opens in new tab).

But I’m fine with university — it’s the trade school for engineers, doctors, accountants, and attorneys.

But those aren’t the only trades — electricians? plumbers? welders? HVAC? What about them?

We’re way short on skilled trades — by millions — read more here — Forbes on the trade shortage crisis (opens in new tab) and here — Forbes on pathways versus degrees (opens in new tab).

So we need more.

But what about high school education?

Middle school?

Elementary?

They’re all connected.

And this site will share the data, and my opinions.

The goal is to help our area, which helps our state, which helps our country, which helps the world.

I’ll link back to conversations — so join in :)
